The Official Omar Craddock Website

Welcome!

Welcome, and thank you for visiting my site!

As you many of you may know already. I have recently won my third -U.S Championship title. My first title came in 2013; which was my last year as a collegiate athlete. That title also secured a spot on the U.S World team. Fast-forward to spring 2015, I was blessed to win my first Indoor U.S title, and second U.S National Championship title. Furthermore, pushing into this 2015 summer, I again, won another U.S Championship title. This brings my total to 3 U.S Championship Titles all together. At this moment I feel extremely blessed, honored and excited for what's to come. My season isn't over just yet. This  most recent title garnered me a spot on the U.S Championship team going to Beijing, China for the IAAF World Championships.

This year, I have been working diligently with my coaches and mentors, to prepare myself for monumental marks and distances. I am looking forward to the rest of this amazing season, and to all the competition I hope you all have been putting in as much work as I have. Please continue to check my site periodically on new updates. I thank you all for contacting and interacting with me via twitter - get down with the movement #R2I - Room2Improve.

--Thanks, Omar!

Q&A's

A Little About Me:
  • Age: 24
  • Home location: Currently Residing in Gainesville, Florida
  • Educational background: University of Florida Graduate c/o 2014
  • Sports participated in: Growing up I was into anything related to sports. From football, baseball, basketball, etc. Granted, I never played organized baseball I'd still get out in the field and play.
  • Years in current sport: I've been in this sport since I was in the 8th grade; I would say about 10 years now dating back to 2005.
  • What got you started: In Middle School, I wanted to do more than one sport. My other sport was none other than football. But, my older brother did Track & Field, and I was inspired by his speed and athleticism in all he did; which included the pole vault.
  • What one or two things do you currently do in your training that are keys to your success? Plyometric drills are a very essential key to my success, and the proper weight training.
  • What would be your ultimate achievement? For this year, it would be winning the Gold medal at this year World Championships.
  • How do you set your goals? I have the grand prize in my mind first, whatever it may be. Whether the Olympic Games, a national meet or something as simple a personal best; I will have that as my main goal and from there I break it down into different ways to achieve that goal.
  • What was the best advice you were ever given? I feel listening to yourself is the best advice any one person can give to themselves. What may work for one person doesn't work for us all.
  • Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by? "How do you expect the class to pass, if you don't really teach'm?" --Big Spade; and of course Room 2 Improve - Dream Big & B.I.G
  •  Where do you draw your inspiration from? God. God is my inspiration and I thrive off what is around me - people, life events, among other things.
